Responsible for dispositioning and judgement of Company product warranty and recovery claims in North America, including processing of warranty claims based on product and policy knowledge, product-specific system maintenance, communication of policy changes, warranty process and procedure improvements, dealer audits and warranty reporting as assigned.

Maximize recovery of warranty expense caused by supplier component failures via negotiation with suppliers to resolve warranty recovery claims. Perform claim data analysis to support negotiation and work with technical staff to determine root case / verify supplier responsibility.

Role & Responsibility

Supplier Recovery Claims and Process Management
  • Maximize recovery of warranty expense caused by supplier component failures via negotiation with suppliers to resolve recovery claims.
  • Perform analysis on warranty claim data to support negotiation and work with technical staff to determine root cause / verify supplier responsibility.
  • Evaluate field and internal failures on engineered components by utilizing problem solving and Pareto analysis tools.
  • Communicate directly with other operational departments as necessary through oral and written presentation to determine root cause of warranty recovery claims and assure resolution of quality related issues.
  • Collaborate with technical staff to review supplier warranty recovery claims to determine correct responsibility and reassign to appropriate supplier or internal group.
  • Work with Supplier and internal contacts as needed to support receiving, shipping and reviewing of failed components.

Warranty Claims and Process Management
  • Review dealer-submitted warranty claims for adherence to policy and fair reimbursement.
  • Ensure accurate information and coding on claims for issue detection and supplier recovery.
  • Suggest and implement opportunities to improve policy and/or process to increase internal operating efficiencies, improve validity and recovery of claim expenses, or increase ease of dealer claim input and/or quality of information.
  • Communicate and assist Bobcat field staff and Bobcat dealers with warranty policy questions, warranty claim and submission questions, warranty part return, warranty claim payment questions, etc.

Reporting and Communication
  • Create and maintain essential warranty reporting as required by the business. This including design of new reports as required, and custom reporting support for project teams as needed.
  • Communication of report data to stakeholders (internal and external).
  • Communication and training on policy and procedure changes to dealers and internal staff.


Job Requirement

  • Education: Associates degree in a technical field. Bachelors degree preferred.
  • Experience: 2>5 years
  • Travel:
  • Lean Six Sigma Greenbelt Certification Preferred
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Bobcat products is recommended.
  • Effective verbal & written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational, prioritization and planning skills.
  • Fluency in MS Office Suite (strong proficiency with Excel required)

Internal contacts include senior management from manufacturing, engineering, sales and marketing and plant controllers. They are generally looking for insight into warranty expense and expense reduction. External contacts include dealer principals, dealer service managers, warranty writers, vendors and national accounts. Contacts are generally prompted by systems questions, warranty questions or, in the case of national accounts, negotiated settlements for warranty submittals. Confidentiality requirement includes sales amount, warranty amounts and delivery information.

This position must determine if the payment received by a supplier for a particular failure is adequate. If not, negotiation must be held with supplier to resolve dispute.

Root cause analysis supporting negotiation of new Supplier contracts and interpretation of existing supplier contracts.

Maintaining the Warranty (field failure) return parts system.
