The IT Project Manager is responsible for managing IT projects that span the Infrastructure and Business Applications teams ensuring scope is delivered according to deadlines, budget and quality standards. The IT Project Manager develops project plans, builds project schedules, manages project meetings, communicates progress and status, enforces quality management and identifies, responds, and manages risks, issues and changes and manages all information technology project activities. The IT Project Manager should also have understanding and awareness of Agile principles and incorporate as appropriate.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Managing Infrastructure and Business Applications projects
  • Responsible for multiple projects simultaneously
  • Heavily involved with setting up recurring status meetings with Infrastructure partners, fielding questions, as well as handling issues that arise
  • Anticipating issues and acting proactively to address potential issues
  • Gathering and updating project materials
  • Speaking to details of the project to both the business and technical teams from beginning to end of all projects
  • Managing cross-functional interdependencies
  • Improving processes to optimize performance and value over time
  • Providing risk management and issue/problem resolution as required
  • Leveraging agile principles to deliver value incrementally, where appropriate

Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of project management experience leading technical projects
  • 3+ years of experience in infrastructure delivery
  • Advance understanding of Agile and Scrum SDLC methodologies
  • Demonstrated experience and ability to facilitate working sessions with large, cross-functional teams
  • If you need to enter a work site for any reason, you will be required to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or a similar UnitedHealth Group-approved symptom screener. Employees must comply with any state and local masking orders. In addition, when in a UnitedHealth Group building, employees are expected to wear a mask in areas where physical distancing cannot be attained.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency with MS Office (Including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access)
  • Project management certification - PMI preferred or other applicable/credentialed project management certifications
  • Scrum certification
  • Healthcare industry experience
  • Ability to work well with people from different disciplines with varying degrees of technical experience
  • Ability to express complex technical concepts effectively, both verbally and in writing

Colorado Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $79,700 to $142,600.
