The Senior Renewal Contract Analyst & Auditor is responsible for supporting Renewal Managers in negotiating large complex renewal contracts across multiple solutions within our provider market. The candidate should have strong healthcare financial experience in negotiating, analyzing and auditing all renewal information.

Primary Responsibilities:

Renewal Financial Analyst

  • Create Renewal Performance reports and presentations based on data capture in the Renewal Performance Dashboard and SalesForce
  • Identify trends across products and YOY
  • Assist with communications across product markets with recommendations to ensure a positive renewal rate and revenue retention

Auditing

  • Ability to interpret the Renewal Performance Dashboard and auditing details across the Provider Market to include analysis by region/product and renewal managers
  • Manage outliers of renewal data and ensure data is updated on a weekly basis
  • Manage renewal forecasting data for accurate projections on future renewal performance
  • Risk identification and renewal forecasting correlations, assist in collaboration between renewal managers and client management on risk action plans and strategically utilizing pending renewal events

Complex Contracting Support

  • Point of escalation
  • Review client contracts to ensure that the terms and conditions are consistent with current expectations internally and externally
  • Work collaboratively with other departments including Client Management and Sales ensuring effective internal communications including other internal groups such as Pricing-Finance, Legal teams, Solution Value Management, Accounting
  • Understand and propose strategy pricing options during complex multi solutions renewals and being able to navigate the key external players working closely with the internal team during the renewal process
  • Assist with identifying growth opportunity during renewal strategy discussions
  • Ensure all requirements associated with accuracy of pricing, business terms and internal approvals are secured and in alignment between Optum and the client's business goals
  • Understand renewal contracts for all Provider solutions to include but not limited to Revenue Cycle, Emergency Departments and HIM solutions as well as future solutions

Revenue Retention Strategist

  • Develop renewal strategy in our account centric model where the client expectations of products and/or services, product value and renewal terms are clearly understood, communicated and documented.
  • Serves as a connection point to product management, value management and market solutions to share insights

General

  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule when applicable during key negotiations to accommodate the customer's time zone and internal deliverable
  • Willingness to travel for internal meetings when applicable

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of client-facing experience (e.g. client relationship management, consultation, client messaging & positioning)
  • 5+ years of experience in client contracts / renewals
  • 5+ years of experience in sales pipeline management in the software or services industry
  • 5+ years of experience working with cross-functional teams (Sales, Finance, Contracting, Product & Support)
  • 5+ years of experience managing multiples processes or projects to timelines
  • 5+ years of experience working in a complex highly matrixed organization
  • 3+ years of expereince with basic data and analytical skills

Colorado Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $110,200 to $211,700. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
