Job Summary

Acts as the key point of contact between Sanford Laboratories and its clients by providing the highest level of professionalism. Answers queries, offers advice and introduces new laboratory products. Responsible for consulting with providing guidance regarding reference laboratory issues for customers in designated territory. Reviews sales performance, negotiates contracts and scope of services.

Aims to achieve monthly and annual targets consistently and aggressively. Educate, instruct, and up sell all assigned and newly generated accounts in a predetermined geographic territory. Enable Sanford to maximize and maintain the volume of business these accounts may produce. May be asked to travel to any laboratory site depending on the needs of the facility and at the discretion of the leadership.

Territory includes Eastern South Dakota, Southern Minnesota, Iowa, and Nebraska. Develops a sales strategy for existing and future territories with the awareness of first impression impact. Deeply integrated in guiding patient care, providing comprehensive clinical and anatomic laboratory services.

Sells laboratory services by developing relationships with customers and prospects. Achieves organizational and territory revenue objectives while forging strong relationships with key internal stakeholders, as well as upper and mid-level executives within assigned accounts and prospects. Grows sales in assigned territory in accordance with quotas established by senior management.

Ability to collaborate in a professional and respectful manner with internal stakeholders to maximize quality, analyze profitability, and build strong strategic customer relationships. Provides ongoing service and problem solving to customer base within geographic territory. Business retention and growth of assigned account base and new accounts in defined geography.

Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards. Identifies product improvements or new products by remaining current on industry trends, market activities, and competitors. Seeks business opportunities by identifying prospects and evaluating position in industry, researching and analyzing sales options.

Conducts service reviews and other account management duties with assigned accounts. Follows up to ensure operational efficiency for both the practice and Sanford Laboratories. Maintains accurate records of all account management and sales prospecting activities including sales calls, presentations, and follow-up activities within assigned territory. Documents sales activities, pipeline, referrals, and forecast in client relationship database.

Demonstrates and understands the importance of the 'big picture' thinking, planning, networking and ability to apply organizational acumen to identify and maintain focus on key success factors for the organization.

Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops if needed. Reviews professional publications, establishes personal networks, benchmarking state of the art practices, and participating in professional societies for personal growth and development.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Medical Sciences or related fields is required.

Minimum of two years proven track record of successful sales growth in medical sales. Prefer two years' laboratory experience in a hospital or clinic laboratory. Two years experience specifically in diagnostic sales preferred. Ability to articulate product information when interacting with physicians.
