Provide design and analysis of power conversion circuits and equipment for a family of adjustable speed drives. Most of the work will be on an R&D project.


Typical duties include:

Development specifications for components, boards, drives, tests, etc.

Power electronics design of drives

Creating and editing design specifications

Making minor changes to PCB layout

Sizing/dimensioning of components

Testing of board level components and assemblies

Testing of prototype drives and later builds including test reports

Lab work may include prototype assembly of boards and/or drives

Lab work may include board and drive level testing

Interacting with project and line managers to give technical updates or presentations as required.

Top Skills Details:

Someone who can dimension and model and do thermal calculations.

Someone who knows what inputs and outputs mean.

Someone familiar with critical component placement on board.

Someone who understands parameters for noise, EMC and things like that.

Besides component dimensioning is interfacing and understanding power conversion and selection of the right components and running R&D tests, power supply measurements that a technician wouldn't understand.



Additional Skills & Qualifications:

1.) 1+ years working experience or Master's Degree doing design and analysis of power conversion circuits and equipment


2.) Ability to articulate when they have worked through development specifications involving power electronic components, boards and drives and tested prototypes
