Job Title: Tower Tech III

Job Type: Direct Hire

Location: Rogers, MN

Shift/Hours: 1st Shift Mon-Fri 7:00am - 5/6 pm (or when job is complete)

Career Level: Minimum of 1-2 years' recent tower construction + education

Education: High School Degree/GED

Salary: $20 - $30/hr ($41,600-$62.400+)



Description:

1. A Tech III will seldom run crews, contingent upon the needs of the business

2. Maintaining, repairing, and occasionally installing various wireless tower types

3. Assists in the installation, maintenance, and de-installation of all aspects of wireless cell site foundations including grounding conduits, electrical installations, site de-installation of antennas, coax, and cabinets

4. Climbing ladders of various heights and types

5. Construction, troubleshooting, calibration, testing, and maintenance of telecommunications equipment

6. Operating test equipment and data reporting

7. Performing additional maintenance or upgrades on out of season equipment

8. Working with a crew and responding to service calls in a timely manner

9. Must be able to work overtime to include Saturdays, Sundays and evening hours

10. Be able to travel 50% of the time, with extensive time away from the corporate location



Requirements:

1. Understand and enforce OSHA safety standards (OSHA-10 Certification Preferred)

2. Must have Competent Tower Climber and Rescuer Certification

3. Advanced knowledge of knots and tower rigging necessary

4. Use of lifts and aerial platform equipment

5. Working knowledge of Fall Protection practice and procedures and tower life saving techniques

6. Must work independently yet in a team environment with limited supervision

7. Must be able to pull his/her own body weight plus equipment weight up a vertical tower repeatedly for long periods of time

8. Must be willing to work long and unpredictable hours (10-hour days are not unusual) and travel out-of-state where necessary up to 50% of the time.

9. Position requires working outdoors in all types of weather

10. Installation of up-top equipment including masts, supports, antennas, RRUs, cabling, bolting, shooting proper azimuth within tolerances, labeling, picture-taking, documentation, plumb and tilt readings with smart level, etc.

11. Skilled in computers for submitting Daily Work Reports and/or Time Sheets

12. Ability to be a "lead" for the crew when / where required

13. Mentor and knowledge share with lesser experienced team members

14. Minimum of 3 years' experience in the industry is preferred

15. Good oral and written communication skills to include computer skills to send and receive emails, daily reports

16. High school diploma /GED and 1-2 years tower construction

17. Valid Driver's License - strongly preferred/may be required depending upon the location in which the position is required to work

18. Knowledge of standard knots

19. Basic computer skills required for equipment programing and site closeouts

20. Sweep & PIM testing certifications (practical knowledge/skill test may be performed during interview)



Physical Requirements:

1. Visual ability correctable to 20/20

2. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, use hands to finger/handle/feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, talk or hear

3. The work requires the employee to walk, sit, stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, or crawl up to 90% of the day

4. Frequently the employee is required to lift or carry up to 10 or 25 lbs., and occasionally up to 50 or 100 lbs.

5. Able to climb to and work at heights exceeding 300'. The employee needs to have good vision for close work, distance, color discrimination, peripheral, and depth perception
