Description

The Project Specialist position will work with the Rural Health Information Hub (https://www.ruralhealthinfo.org), a federally-funded information center on rural health issues. The purpose of this position is to provide project support in the areas of financial tracking of grant expenditures; website updates; project coordination and tracking.

Departmental Information

The Center for Rural Health connects resources and knowledge to strengthen the health of people in rural communities. For 40 years, we have worked with the public and private sectors expanding a circle of partners to develop creative solutions to critical health issues. The Center is located at the University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Sciences in Grand Forks. Our approach is multi-disciplinary, as we create solutions to complex challenges. The Center for Rural Health works with communities, healthcare organizations, healthcare providers, policymakers, researchers, tribal nations, and rural health stakeholders. Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform program finance support activities.
  • Provide web updates and quality assurance.
  • Assist in project coordination activities.
  • Reporting and web analytics.
  • Manage special project assignments.

Required Competencies

  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • An aptitude to quickly learn and use new software applications or technologies.
  • The ability to collaborate effectively with project staff to meet shared goals and be dedicated to quality work.
  • Must possess excellent organizational skills.
  • A high level of accuracy and attention-to-detail.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in business field. Will consider other degrees if applicant has work experience similar to this position. Will consider Associate degree (or equivalent) with 2 years of related work experience.
  • Experience using computers, including with Microsoft Office software applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook or similar), e-mail, and Internet usage.
  • Successful completion of criminal history records check.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with a content management system and basic HTML.
  • Grant project coordination experience.
  • Grant budget experience and/or bookkeeping experience.
  • Experience with UND policies and procedures (travel, payments including P-card, procurement).
  • Experience using Peoplesoft Finance module to run reports and find information.
  • Experience using e-procurement, using Jaggaer or similar.
  • Experience with link-checking and other quality control measures for web sites.
  • Experience using Google Analytics or other web analytics programs.

Minimum Hiring Salary/Position Classification

$35,000/year minimum (may range higher based on qualifications and experience), Full-time Benefited, Non-Exempt. This position is grant funded.

Work Schedule/Start Date

Monday - Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
