Principal Electrical Engineer, Digital Design
We have an exciting opportunity for a Principal Electrical R&D Engineer supporting and leading Coronary Therapies projects within the Interventional Cardiology division. This role will utilize a variety of new and proven technologies to deliver life-changing medical devices to patients and clinicians in support of BSC's mission.

This role will utilize a variety of new and proven technologies to deliver life-changing medical devices to patients and clinicians in support of BSC's mission.
Responsibilities:
- Create a strong team culture around high expectations & high performance
- Facilitate crisp decision making around key technical issues
- Lead technology integration & knowledge transfer within domain of responsibility
- Provide clear communication to stakeholders at key technical updates
- Leverage internal/external partners as necessary to achieve project objectives
- Lead the design & execution of structured experimental plans to drive data-based decisions
- Understand clinical use cases and user interface requirements to drive design decisions
- Develop novel improvements to products or processes resulting in expansion of BSC's Intellectual Property portfolio in key strategic areas
- Successfully complete engineering work in one or more of the following: technology development, product design and development, test method development, specification development, bench & preclinical studies
- Work cooperatively with process development, quality, manufacturing, regulatory, clinical, and marketing on complex projects to ensure project success
- Train and/or provide work direction to technicians and other engineers
- Design, develop, debug, modify, and test electrical circuits and systems by using current tools, analysis techniques, and technologies
- Document electrical development by writing documents, reports, memos, change requests. Methods used are determined by approved procedures and standards.
- Track electrical development effort by creating and maintaining records in the approved tracking management tool
- Solve engineering problems by analyzing the situation and recommending corrective or alternative actions
- Analyze, evaluate, verify requirements, circuits, and systems by using engineering best practices
- Investigate, research, select electronic circuits, components, tools, and equipment
- In all actions, demonstrate a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality by maintaining compliance to all documented quality processes and procedures
- BS in Electrical or Computer Engineering
- Required minimum years of work experience: 6 years with BS, or 4 years with MS
- Solid lab experience with debug, fixtures, and test equipment
- Ability to provide technical leadership as it relates to product and process design
- Ability to draw conclusions and make recommendations based on technical inputs from multiple and varied sources
- Strong electrical engineering skills, specifically digital architecture and circuit design including FPGA, high speed communication (PCIe, DDR4, DMA controller, JESD204), power and motor control design
- Expertise in Hardware Description Language (Verilog/VHDL) design and simulation tools and analysis techniques
- Experience with EMI/EMC good design practices in both schematic and PCB layout
- Experience with medical device electronics and systems
- Experience in working with contract services, manufacturers and/or material suppliers
