Field Claims Representatives with SECURA own their territory. They have the autonomy to develop and grow relationships, and the freedoms to make decisions. Our company size provides our claims team a chance to be an integral part of the growth and success of the assigned territory and the company.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Focus on outstanding customer service toward all stakeholders with every subsequent claim and interaction
  • Robustly investigate the facts of the loss by interviewing and corresponding with policyholders, claimants, witnesses and police
  • Inspect, prepare detailed damage estimates, negotiate and settle property and property liability claims
  • Seek to provide coverage by analyzing policy coverage forms and other documents to determine insurance coverage
  • Developing long-lasting relationships by conducting agency visits and providing feedback to Underwriting
  • Establish and monitor reserves to adequately reflect the exposure as each file develops
  • Establish and develop a network of vendors and other resources to assist in properly indemnifying claimants
  • Occasionally handle and manage complex losses in specific areas of expertise
  • Participate on catastrophe teams, as required
  • Occasional travel with overnight stays for training and catastrophe assistance

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Two-plus years' experience in property and property damage liability claim settlement
  • Working knowledge of claims law
  • Understanding of insurance coverages for personal, commercial and farm lines of business
  • Top-notch organizational and prioritization skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of an assigned territory
  • Excellent problem-solving and negotiating skills
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills

PREFERRED:


  • AINS, AIC, AU, ARM, API, AIS, CPCU and/or SCLA designations
  • College degree or equivalent work experience
  • Familiarity with the Office 365 suite
  • Previous experience using the Xactimate estimating software
  • Water Restoration Technician (WRT) and/or Fire and Smoke Restoration Technician (FSRT) certifications
  • Fire Investigation Technician (FIT) certification
