Summary:Our customer is looking for someone to independently perform staff level accounting functions that deal with accounting issues of normal complexity to support business processes and provide further experience with company accounting practices. Check out the details below.
Description: Job Title: Accounting Analyst
Job Type: Long Term Temporary
Location: Brooklyn Park, MN
Shift/Hours: 1st Shift (8 to 10 hour days week one of accounting month; flexible part time hours weeks two thru four)
Career Level: 3 Years' Experience
Education: High School Diploma/GED + Bachelor's Degree (accounting or finance)
Salary: $23 - $27/hr
Job Duties:
From the outset, the Staff Accountant will be expected to be a contributing performer, performing accounting work that supports business processes. Additionally, this position will:
1. Develop an expanded understanding of Caterpillar's business and accounting practices, systems and procedures;
2. Apply accounting knowledge
Possible areas of responsibility are varied, including:
1. Cost system maintenance
2. Standard and current cost grief resolution
3. Testing of internal controls
4. Financial accounting including preparation of journal entries
BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE:
Position requires a 4-year degree, in accounting or business. Must demonstrate initiative, inter-personal skills and the ability to communicate effectively. 1-2 years of accounting experience is required.
