The Mortgage Underwriter is responsible for underwriting residential mortgage loans to ensure compliance with bank, FHA/VA, and secondary market standards. Communicates with processors, lenders, and other internal and external customers. Meets performance standards and goals established by the Bank.
- Minimum of 2 years experience as a mortgage underwriter or a certified processor
- Working knowledge of Microsoft applications including Word and Excel.
- A thorough understanding of the Secondary Market, products and delivery.
- Highly Preferred D/E certified / FHA experience
- Highly Preferred SAR / LAPP approved
- Proficient use of desk top underwriter is nice to have
- A thorough understanding of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac guidelines is nice to have
