Job Title: Document Clerk

Job Location: Madison, SD

Job Pay: $15.32 - $17.82 (depending on experience)

Job Hours: 1st shift: 8am-5pm; Monday-Friday

Job Qualifications and Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • U.S. Citizen
  • 18 Years of age or older
  • Must have general computer knowledge - specifically using Microsoft Office as it is used daily.
  • Ability to multi-task while paying attention to detail and accuracy
  • Able to perform data entry at a reasonable rate
  • Good hand-eye coordination
  • Lift up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time
  • You must be capable of performing repetitive tasks while maintaining a high level of accuracy, such as: lifting, standing, reaching, bending, twisting, stacking, moving/stacking boxes, un-stapling, sorting, filing, scanning and reading
  • Able to pass to a USDA background investigation security clearance check (includes a credit check), as needed (can take up to 12 weeks and cannot start until public trust is cleared)
  • Must have previous work experience scanning and filing
  • Able to pass a post offer employment test
  • Regular and punctual attendance is required

Job Description/Duties:

This position requires candidate to work with a team of scan operators and file preparers to scan documents at a federal government facility.

Tasks include logging inventory of physical file folders, checking-out/checking-in of folders for scanning, moving files between workspace and file storage area, categorizing records for disposition, preparing documents for scanning, reassembling documents, performing quality checks of reassembled file folders, communicating with site representatives and remotely-located digitization manager.

The candidate may need to lift archive boxes that weigh around 40 lbs. onto cart for transport. You will need to have basic knowledge of Microsoft Office as it is used daily. Candidates will be subject to a USDA background investigation.
