Human Resources Specialist

Location: St. James, MN
Salary: $55,000 to $60,000 + bonus D.O.E.
Description: Our client, an award-winning Food Manufacturer, is currently seeking a Human Resources Specialist for their plant near St. James, Minnesota

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

• You will be responsible for the Human Resources and Safety management of the Plant.
• You will be responsible for all HR activities for 75 team members and all Safety/Workers Comp for the facility.
• Responsibilities include:
• Recruiting
• Occupational training and development
• Company policy administration
• Timekeeping
• HRIS administration
• Incident investigation
• Disciplinary actions
• Safety policy development and administration
• Facility audits
• Leading safety meetings
• Accident/injury investigation
• Safety training
• Tracking of certifications and licenses
• Workers compensation reporting
• OSHA record keeping
• The focus of this position is to progress to be the HR Manager of the facility

WHAT YOU NEED TO HAVE:

• High School Diploma (Bachelor Degree preferred)
• Minimum of 5 years of Human Resources experience
• Minimum of 2 years of Occupational Safety experience a plus
• Comprehensive understanding of HR best practices, employee benefits, and state and federal employment laws
• Strong relationship management skills with the ability to train, influence and motivate team members
• Capable of maintaining a high level of confidentiality and professionalism in difficult situations
• Knowledge of OSHA standards with regard to manufacturing
• Demonstrated written and oral communication skills and ability to communicate with tact and diplomacy
• Food industry experience a plus
• Excellent computer skills, experience with Microsoft Office and HR software such as Kronos Workforce Ready
