Kelly Engineering Resources is working with a full-service Environmental & Civil Engineering firm based out of the Milwaukee area. From surveying to design to construction inspection, our customer works on commercial, infrastructure and environmental projects. Due to growth in the commercial space, our customer is searching for a Civil Engineer to join in a site engineering/development capacity.
Essential Functions of the Civil Engineer:
  • Land development and design of commercial/residential mixed-use projects.
    • Site Engineering
    • Utility Design
    • Storm Water Management (hydrology/hydraulics, pond modeling)
    • Grading plans, drainage
    • Permitting and Regulatory Coordination
  • Analyze & review surveys, mapping, materials-testing data with modeling software.
  • Create site plans, blueprints, etc. using AutoCAD Civil 3D or MicroStation
  • Use analysis tools & software to create engineered drawings, sheet sets, project solutions that meet local, state, federal requirements, that follow accepted engineering best practices.
  • Incorporate factors such a construction & material costs, government regulations, potential environmental hazards during the project planning/risk analysis stages.
  • Develop project requirements directly with customers, project managers, internal and external teams, vendors
    • Prepare Bids for vendors, reports/engineering analysis for customers, public agencies and all planning stakeholders.
    • Mange, direct and monitor all contributors to your projects.
    • Make presentations to the public on projects related to proposals, environmental impacts, property descriptions, etc.
    • Utilize sound judgement to determine that projects are workable by assessing cost, timelines, risk factors.
    • Ensure site plans/projects meet permitting guidelines, OSHA, EPA requirements
  • Manage repair/replacement of public infrastructure.
Qualifications of the Successful Civil Engineer
  • BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering and 4-6 years' experience in site design
    • Mixed use/multi-family commercial land development experience highly preferred.
    • EIT or PE a plus
  • Proficient with MS Office, Adobe & AutoCAD Civil 3D is a hard requirement, MicroStation is a plus
  • Working knowledge of HEC-Ras or similar, creating hydragraph, tr-55
  • Prior experience and comfort presenting engineering proposals and reports to the general public, government committees, etc.; answer questions regarding proposals and report findings.
