ERM is seeking an experienced Senior Environmental Process Engineer (Remediation) to join our consulting firm in our Minneapolis, MN, Milwaukee, WI, Rolling Meadows, IL or Chicago, IL offices. The successful candidate will work on a variety of interesting site investigation and remediation projects at industrial sites, and be part of a growing team of design engineers. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior-level professional looking to advance their career to the next level with a global environmental leader.RESPONSIBILITIES:Lead multi-disciplinary engineering design teams to prepare design and construction drawings, technical specifications, and contract documents for soil and groundwater remediation projectsDesign and negotiate remedial solutions for contaminated soil, groundwater, vapor and sediment using innovative and emerging remedial treatment technologies as well as traditional technologies.Assist clients in developing and implementing contaminated site management strategies.Prepare and oversee SWPPP and SPCC PlansPrepare technical proposals and participate in business development with existing clients and identified leads.Coordinate and conduct oversight activities for projects, including construction oversight and operation of treatment systemsDesign and coordinate field pilot tests and remedial systems for various remediation technologiesCommunicate with clients, subcontractors, and regulatory agents regarding project activities.Work within quality/budget/schedule expectations and scope-specific assignmentsAssist in ensuring compliance with all federal, state and local regulationsConstruction and environmental permittingSubcontractor managementData compilation and analysisTechnical writing; work plans and reportsREQUIREMENTS:Bachelors in civil, chemical, environmental or geological engineering; Masters preferred.10 -15 years of experience in engineering design and construction management.Understanding of environmental regulatory processes (federal and state levels), a broad range of in-situ and ex-situ remedial technologies, and remediation design and construction.Experience performing design calculations and preparing design reports, construction drawings, technical specifications and contract documents.Experience guiding a team through all steps of a remediation design project.Experience preparing detailed technical and environmental reports.Experience interacting with regulators and clients to facilitate project progress.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Effective written/verbal communication and organization/analytical skills.Strong commitment to safety, including following established Health and Safety protocols.Ability to succeed in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as neededProfessional Engineer License requiredValid drivers license and a good driving record40-hour HAZWOPER training preferred, but not requiredLocal candidates preferredWho We Are:As the worlds leading sustainability consulting firm, ERM is uniquely positioned to contribute to the environment and society through the expertise and energy of our employees worldwide.
