Manager, Learning & Development
Position Overview:
The Manager, Learning & Development demonstrates a solid understanding of the latest trends in L&D methods and technology, and inspires others to do the same. This leader identifies and monitors learning needs in the organization, and works with the team to design, plan, and implement learning experiences, programs, policies, and procedures, to fulfill those needs. This manager leads a team whose purpose is to make the most out of people's talents and help them develop to their full potential. At the same time, this manager keeps a strong focus not just on what the learner wants and needs, but also on the needs of the organization and the creation of value for our customers. This person works closely with various leaders across the organization, L&D specialists and other members of HR.
Responsibilities:

- Oversee the daily activities of L&D Specialists and consultants.
- Provide performance feedback that is timely and constructive.
- Review existing training programs; suggests enhancements and modifications to improve engagement, learning, and retention and/or to meet the changing needs of the organization.
- Ensure that training materials and programs are current, accurate, and effective.
- Maintain knowledge of new methods and techniques for learning, including agile methods for design and development.
- Identify problems and opportunities such as operational changes or organization developments that learning could improve.
- Conduct or facilitate required and recommended training sessions.
- Collaborate with vendors/third-party providers to arrange participation in outside learning initiatives.
- Ensure that learning milestones and goals are met.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
- Thorough understanding of learning processes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong graphic design ability.
- Ability to moderate large groups.
- Extremely organized and detail-oriented.
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
Minimum/Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in human resources management, psychology, communications, or similar area of study or equivalent, relevant work experience.
- At least three years of experience in learning or related discipline, with two years of supervisory experience required.
