The role reports to the Channel Director and located in New Berlin, Wisconsin. As a Channel Program Manager, you will be responsible for the strategic design, optimization, and leadership of the ABB Drives Products Division channel programs to market in the US. In this role you will be working as a key individual contributor in a matrix environment and plenty of opportunity for growth and to lead cross functional teams to achieve channel program goals. The successful candidate will have extensive and progressive roles of increasing responsibility working with major industrial automation technology manufacturers. Strategic knowledge and practical application of an omni-channel approach for industrial and municipal water distributor 'go to market' models are critical for success. Previous experience in channel development and channel growth programs is essential. The Channel Program Manager is responsible for business growth through authorized third-party channel partners, systems integrators, and e-Commerce vehicles in the US market.

Your responsibilities

  • Create channel programs to drive US Business growth via industrial and municipal channel partners, systems integrators, and eCommerce.
  • Ownership of the US Chanel policy framework, providing structure and consistency in go to market strategy and practices (approved by legal and compliance teams).
  • Maintain channel programs and documents including marketing development funds, business plan tools, System Integrator, eCommerce, Point of Sale and Stocking programs. Lead annual distributor classification process with Channel Management team.
  • Point of support contact for remote Regional Channel Managers to overcome channel issues.
  • Coordination and implementation of distributor on-boarding process. Facilitate regular communication regarding channel policy and best practices with Channel Management team.
  • Be the ABB Channel market ambassador with key national channel organizations and related events (NAED, PTDA, AHTD, etc.). Thought leadership for a national team of Regional Channel Managers.
  • Sponsor distributor marketing and promotional events that, together with Marketing and Sales leadership, drive growth in US Market share.
  • Develop programs and digital marketing, selector and CPQ (configure-price-quote) tools to maximize the channel customer experience.
  • Continuous improvement of the Channel Portal to drive improved channel engagement, productivity, and end to end order visibility. Responsible to keep the Distributor Locator updated and relevant to optimize the customer experience.
  • Lead channel surveys and have a continuous improvement mindset. Internal channel advocate making sure our distributors needs and challenges are understood by ABB.
  • Assist with channel facing marketing promotions and campaigns working with commercial marketing and communication teams. Respond to distributor/branch contractual set-up questions from Contract Administrator. Facilitate and build agenda for Distributor Advisory Council (DAC) meetings. Respond to stock rotation questions from the Customer Experience team.
  • Provide monthly channel newsletter content.
  • Provide quarterly channel Flash Reports to global channel team.


Your background

  • Bachelor's degree and 8 years of relevant experience within a complex business environment.
  • Must have prior direct customer and channel leadership experience.
  • Experience with MS Office, Salesforce, Power BI.
  • 10% travel required.
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
  • Master's Degree preferred.
  • Market knowledge in LV Drives and industrial vertical market applications is preferred.
