So let's talk today.What you will do The Director Intellectual Property will be focused on patent portfolio alignment, deployment/monetization, and third-party partnerships involving IP co-development. You will be responsible for working under the direction of Chief Patent Counsel to help conduct business-unit spanning patent portfolio strategic alignment with leadership. How you will do it You will conductinfringement investigations and developstrategies for deployment, monetization, and other out licensing of usable patent assets. You will be responisble for the deployment of the agreements which may include use in marketing, use in building partnerships, use in cross licensing, use in offensive assertions, use in establishing exclusivity with suppliers, cost reduction with suppliers, use in contributions to standards bodies or research endeavors, or other strategies for advantaging Johnson Controls via the patent portfolios this role helps align. You will also support IP agreements and negotiations of varying shapes and sizes with partners, suppliers, and customers, to the extent an IP specialist is needed. What we look for A minimum of 6 years of experience negotiating IP clauses in third party agreements, and at least three years of heavy patent prosecution experience. Mustbe a registered patent attorney with the USPTO. A demonstrated track record of configuring portfolios for active use and executing on those plans. Patent prosecution experience (it is important to note that this is not a patent prosecution role).
