Shifts Available:

  • 2nd shift; Monday-Friday every other weekend; working 2pm-10pm
  • 3rd shift; Monday-Friday every other weekend; working 10pm-6am

Pay: $27-$30/hr. based upon experience

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Electrical and Automation Technician is responsible for the daily electrical support for the factory. Additional duties include preventative maintenance and electrical support for capital and extraordinary maintenance projects. The position requires good communication skills and teamwork with all departments. Candidates will be chosen based on electrical competence and previous experience. Individuals will need strong time management skills, be self-motivated and self-directed to be able to complete in-plant electrical projects/repairs with minimal assistance. Also utilize equipment logs and reports, and data from computerized maintenance systems to track equipment reliability and manage time.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Electrical skills on the following technologies:
    • PLCs: Pico, Mico, CompactLogix, SLC500, ControlLogix, Guardlogix and PLC-5
    • Servo's: Ultra, Kinetix
    • Networks: Ethernet /IP, Sercos, DH-485, DH+ and Remote I/O
    • Safety devices: Guard I/O, Safety relays
    • Drives: 160, 1305, 1336, PF4, PF40, PF70
    • Software: Linx, DriveExecutive, RSLogix5, RSLogix500, RSLogix5000, PanelBuilder32, FactoryTalk View, Asset Centre, BOOTP-DHCP Server, RSNetworx
    • Computer Skills including familiarity with: Electrical Software, Outlook, Excel, Word, SAP, and SharePoint
    • Calibration duties including:
    • Acquire and maintain calibration training
    • Calibrate flow meters, RTDs, thermocouples, pressure sensors, scales, etc.
    • Documenting calibration results
    • Assisting with outside resources performing calibration
  • Skills on the following electrical testing devices to connect, set-up, and perform testing to troubleshoot plant issues
    • Multimeters:AC,DC voltage and amperage, milliamp, millivolt, OHM's , frequency and min/max readings
    • Oscilloscope: AC,DC voltage and amperage, milliamp, millivolt, OHM's , frequency and min/max readings
    • Power Logger: AC connections
    • IR Camera: Take images and review them with the Fluke software
    • Calibration equipment: Calibration tester, dry blocks, etc.
  • Daily checklist (start-up Electrical)
  • Updating prints to reflect wiring changes
  • Creating and improving PMs
  • Participating in yearly plant shutdowns on the main electrical distribution systems
  • Re-builds of contactors
  • Removal and installation of equipment
  • Maintain close working relationship with equipment operators and line team leaders
  • Troubleshoot emergency equipment failures
  • Abide by all plant rules/policies including safety, GMP regulations and perform good housekeeping practices
  • Working with the other maintenance tech's to increase their electrical skills
  • Must be able to work in a team based environment with all departments

To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following:

  • Associate Degree in an Industrial Electrical technical field such as Automation Systems Technology or electrical Industrial or E&I Journeyman is preferred.
  • Highly skilled electrical troubleshooting of plc's, servo's, and safety relays for bad components or faulty wiring.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to interpret and comprehend technical literature and print documentation (European, American, Italian)
  • Working knowledge of switchboards, mcc's, panel boards, control cabinets.
  • Utilize a computer (laptop/desktop) to troubleshoot and repair faulty networked components.
  • Obtaining and maintaining a Wisconsin state electrical license and continuing education may be required
  • Obtaining calibration training and maintaining certification may be required
