The Mortgage Loan Originator will be responsible for working with prospective clients and business partners to deliver a mortgage real estate loan solution, both for mortgage refinancings and new homebuyers. The principal responsibility of the Originator is to establish relationships with the client to determine the best loan product and terms that will ensure success in the mortgage process. This will entail generating a complete mortgage application with the client, ensuring appropriate measures documentation, while meeting sales and quality goals and objectives. The Mortgage Originator will also proactively establish relationships with business partners to generate referrals.


  • The Originator works with incoming potential loans from NorthPort's marketing channel to ensure a complete loan application and documentation.
  • Recommends mortgage products based on the client's individual needs and presents a solution for the client
  • Develops new business through contacts with real estate professionals and other business referral providers
  • Works with management to implement sales and marketing plans on an ongoing basis designed to enhance success and achieve goals
  • Demonstrates a complete understanding of mortgage products offered and the process to loan closing
  • Ensures an exceptional customer experience by overseeing loan application process and leading on-going communication to clients and business partners


Requirements:


  • Bachelor's Degree
  • NMLS required, OR in process to be licensed
  • 1-3 years experience as a loan originator/officer in the mortgage industry with proven success in new business sales
  • Highly motivated and self-starter
  • Knowledge of mortgage products and loan documentation
  • Experience with Google Workspace, Encompass, and the ability to learn systems
  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent customer service and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and follow-up skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize projects with multiple deadlines
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
