So let's talk today.What you will do Are you interested in leading a team on Johnson Control's configuration software platform, Selection Navigator? As the leader of the architecture team, you will leverage and identify opportunities to accelerate customer's digital sales transformation and increase the platform infrastructure, stability and reliability. You will also help customers in transitioning to new digital sales and configuration tools to drive increases in sales and quoting activity.How you will do it Lead Selection Navigator Platform Architecture team in delivering digital sales and configuration tools, working from early engagement of ideation, planning and design, implementation, and the entire software life cycle. A primary objective of the Platform Architect Team and Lead is to drive higher product value, margin, and revenue in our sales channels. Work closely with product business units, navigator leadership, product management, and sales channels. Leading them, you will architect IT systems including sales, configuration, and field operations for global products. Guide team of Platform Architects to focus on customers' business needs. Incorporating leading edge products and technology, coupled with industry and business skills, to align with and influence JCI enterprise architecture. Collaborate with other professionals to determine functional and non-functional requirements for new software or applications Use tools and methodologies to create representations for functions and user interface of desired product Develop high-level product specifications with attention to system integration and feasibility Define all aspects of development from appropriate technology and workflow to coding standards Communicate successfully all concepts and guidelines to Selection Navigator leadership. Oversee governance and alignment of platform implementation to platform architecture. Ensure software meets all requirements of quality, security, modifiability, extensibility, etc. Adhere to the Company's Code of Conduct and Business Ethics standards. Complete other duties as assigned. What we look for Required: MSc/MA in computer science, engineering or relevant field, or 10-15 years of equivalent experience Proven experience as software architect Communication skills to include conflict management, negotiation, presentation/demonstration, and written communication Experience in software development and coding in various languages (C#, .NET, Java etc.) Excellent knowledge of software and application design and architecture Excellent knowledge of UML and other modeling methods Understanding of software quality assurance principles A technical mindset with great attention to detail Outstanding communication and presentation abilities Familiarity with large data collections in both databases and spreadsheets Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in an Agile team environment with engineers, analysts, designers, and leadership Ability to work collaboratively and independently, with good organizational skills and the flexibility and adaptability to work on multiple projects with exceptional attention to detail High degree of interpersonal skills including both oral and written communication Ability to assimilate and implement new and emerging technologies Preferred: Experience with Johnson Controls selection tools and/or Selection Navigator Experience with existing Johnson Controls infrastructure and Architecture Experience with Azure Dev Ops Johnson Controls International plc. is an equal employment opportunity and affirmative action employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, protected veteran status, genetic information, status as a qualified individual with a disability, or any other characteristic protected by law.
