The University of Wisconsin River Falls, a member of the University of Wisconsin System, is located in scenic west central Wisconsin, 30 miles from the multi-cultural, multi-ethnic cities of Minneapolis and St Paul. The Position:
This position leads the Planning and Construction Team, including all long-range comprehensive facilities planning efforts for the campus. Provides professional expertise in planning the construction, modification, renovation and design of university facilities and infrastructure. This entails projecting the need for, analyzing and preparing proposals regarding alternative facilities development options from a capital budgeting, environmental, energy conservation, space management and usage perspective.
Responsibilities include project development and design oversight, capital budget development, physical development master plans, space management and other related functions. This position serves as a liaison to the UW-System Capital Planning & Budget Office, the WI Department of Administration-Division of Facilities Development and Management (DFDM), architect/engineer design firms, and both internal and external campus constituents. This position reports to the Executive Director of Facilities Management.

This position will supervise two positions: Construction Project Manager (Admin Prog Mgr III) and Project Engineer (Facilities Planning Specialist).

Anticipated Appointment date: March 5, 2021.

Qualifications Required:
*Bachelor's degree or higher in facilities planning, facilities management, architecture, engineering, construction management, interior design or a related field.
*Five years or more of progressive experience in facilities planning, facilities management, architecture, engineering, construction management, or a related field.
*Knowledge of facility planning and basic design principles for educational, institutional, commercial or similar facilities.
*Ability to communicate effectively (oral and written) and interpersonal skills necessary to interact with coworkers, faculty, students, project teams, the public and campus administrators.

Qualifications Preferred:
*University campus planning experience, including master planning for physical facilities.
*Capital budget development and forecasting experience for facilities projects.
*Facilities project management experience.
*Meeting leadership and group facilitation skills.
*Facilities space management experience.
*Two or more years of supervisory experience.
*Ability to gather, analyze and interpret information and then develop solutions to solve problems.
*Reading and comprehension of building construction plans and technical specifications.
*Basic understanding of central utility infrastructure.
*Ability to self-direct work without frequent supervision.
*Basic experience with AutoCAD or similar software would be beneficial, but not required.
