North Dakota State University is seeking an innovative, collaborative, and results-oriented leader for the position of Director of Undergraduate Admission. The Director will lead an enthusiastic and professional admissions team and collaborate extensively with campus entities in reaching NDSU's campus-wide undergraduate enrollment goals. The position reports to the Vice Provost for Student Affairs and Enrollment Management and is responsible for the leadership and management of the Office of Undergraduate Admission including both recruitment and admission.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include supervision of office staff (27 FTE); development and implementation of recruitment strategies to attract a diverse pool of undergraduate students in existing and emerging markets; oversight of application processing and communication with applicants; implementation of new student scholarship strategy and awarding process; management of operating and scholarship budgets; and implementation of existing and emerging technologies to enhance the efficiency and efficacy of the office. In addition, the director represents the Office of Admission on university, regional and national committees and professional organizations.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Master's degree
  • 5 years professional level experience in higher education admission or other relevant student service in higher education
  • Advanced knowledge of recruitment and enrollment strategies, policies and practices
  • Evidence of strong supervisory experience and ability to motivate and lead professional staff members
  • Ability to collaborate and build productive relationships with multiple constituencies
  • Demonstrated commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion in the workplace and in the student body
  • Evidence of strong communication skills (written, interpersonal and public speaking)
  • Budget management experience

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Demonstration of progressive levels of experience within the college admission/recruitment profession
  • Experience devising financial aid/scholarship strategies
  • Experience with use of customer relationship management software and other emerging technology in the admission/recruitment field
  • Experience analyzing data and using it to inform strategic and tactical plans for recruitment and admissions
  • Experience implementing creative, equitable, and inclusive recruitment strategies
