Overview

This will be the top leadership position in the Versatran truck which is a division of Metalcraft of Mayville. As Metalcraft expands the truck division, the ideal candidate will have a background in both sales and engineering leadership.

Responsibilities

The Versatran division is responsible for growing the market share of a highly engineered proprietary product that has significant upside side potential for growth. The General Manager (division leader) will take ownership of product design improvements and market penetration. The GM will help lead the seamless integration of a new product into the existing product mix of production. The GM will also be involved in the operational improvements required to drive profitability.

• Instill and engrain all Metalcraft of Mayville values, objectives, and cultural principles. Make employee engagement the centerpiece of the division. Grow the work force by creating a division that is the employer of choice in its market.
• Develop a senior leadership team that includes inside and outside sales/national account management, customer service, service manager, and operations management. This position works very closely with design engineering and manufacturing engineering.
• Develop strategic plans to increase top line sales and market share
• Gather customer feedback and market research that helps drives product design improvements and upgrades product patents
• Align manufacturing shop with all principles of Metalcraft Continuous Improvement System
• Engage weekly at corporate staff meeting to update and coordinate with executive leadership
• Full ownership and accountability for leading business operations.
• Collaborating with team members to ensure sales quotations are accurate and competitive.
• Ensuring customer satisfaction through high quality products, responsive customer service, timely delivery and technical support.
• Engage in key or targets customer activities.
• Coordination of development and implementation of key performance goals.
• Communication of strategy and business results.
• Hiring and development of resources.
• Evaluate and determine key investments in equipment and talent.
• Report key results to ownership.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Experience in both sales and engineering leadership.
• Experience in having responsibility for operating an independent division with P&L accountability
• Ideal candidate would have commercial truck industry experience.
• Strong entrepreneurial spirit with desire to motivate and mentor colleagues.
• Strong experience in a small to mid-size metal fabrication / manufacturing organization and overall manufacturing processes.
• Must have experience with working with end-customers and internal operational groups.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
• Minimum Technical degree (preferably an engineering discipline) with a general business concentration.
• Ethical and inspiring leadership.
