BI Developer – Corporate 

Overview: 

Are you self-motivated, forward-thinking and a team player? The BI Developer is responsible for the development of the organization’s reporting, analytics, data warehousing, and application needs. This will include application development, web reporting, financial dashboards, and subsequent activities to support the adoption of new platforms and initiatives. Responsibilities:

•    Interact with various departments to gather and define business requirements and translate business requirements into technical specifications. The primary focus will be parts business requirements.  

•    Develop reporting technologies using iSeries Sequel, MS SQL, Visual Studio and other programming languages as required.

•    Develop integration between line of business systems data and iSeries, SQL, SharePoint, Excel workbooks.

•    Builds new multi-user web applications and programs to support internal business requirements. 

•    Writes and maintains documentation to describe program development, logic, coding, testing, changes, and corrections.

•    Works with external vendors to create, test and implement API’s and EDI interfaces.

•    Helps to develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures.

•    Create and manage process improvement within the department.

•    Act as the subject matter expert and point of contact for Parts Department questions and any dealer business system parts related problems.

•    Helps conduct research on products, services, protocols, and standards in support of IT Department initiatives.

•    Documents system details and procedures for end users and other IT users.

•    Works within and promotes vision, mission, and values of BMC.

•    Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: 

•    Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science / IT or Business, or equivalent experience and a minimum of 5 years hands on experience in a production network.  

•    Experience developing applications using the .NET framework, Blazor and others.

•    Excellent T-SQL skills (ability to use T-SQL for triggers, tables, stored-procedures)

•    Experience with SSIS or equivalent ETL software.

•    Experience with SSRS or equivalent reporting software. 

•    Experience with SSAS or equivalent analytic software. 

•    Knowledge of SQL DB2 and IBM iSeries and command line environment a plus.

•    Experience with Parts Operation, and warehouse activities a plus.

•    Experience with XML for data interchange is a plus

•    Experience with Microsoft Office Interop technologies, like VBA & C#

•    Ability to effectively secure SQL servers and associated data.

•    At least 5 years of relevant experience.

•    Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.

•    Strong written and oral communication skills.

•    Strong interpersonal skills.

•    Ability to multi-task multiple projects in a time sensitive production environment where downtime protocols must be followed  

•    Requires experience with customer support with technical teams and the ability to interact in a professional manner with both vendors and peers 

•    Highly self-motivated and directed
