Electrical Engineer - Willmar, MN

Nova-Tech Engineering has a full-time opportunity in our engineering department for an Electrical Engineer.

We are seeking a talented individual that enjoys thinking outside of the box, collaborating with a cross functional team, and is driven by change, innovation and new challenges. The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for the design and development of new and existing electrical; electronic components and software products. Collaboratively, they will work in an Agile | Scrum team of autonomous, cross-functional engineers who design evolving products within our industry.

The ideal candidate will be a skilled team player, self-motivated, and a strong communicator. The candidate will have skills and experience in Electrical and Firmware applications for automated systems.

Summary of Core Responsibilities:

• Ensure proper operation of mechanical equipment and electrical controls system through testing in lab setting or on-site in the field
• Participate in a team environment to analyze problems quickly, develop corrective actions, and effectively communicate solutions
• Demonstrate self-leadership and self-management of priorities to achieve project objectives
• Will work in a multi-disciplinary project team, including engineers from other disciplines, as well as manufacturing personnel, technicians and sales|customer service
• Responsible for the design and development of electrical systems and/or components to specifications
• Operate computer-assisted engineering and design software, as well as equipment to perform engineering tasks
• Electrical engineering design, PLC programming, instrumentation specification, power system design, and documentation for projects
• Travel as required to achieve project objectives
  

The Ideal Candidate Skills and Experience:

• Motivated and driven individual who is skilled in root cause analysis, problem solving and creative thinking
• Requires a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
• Ability to work with in a cross-functional team and autonomous environment with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Knowledge and skills in embedded programming
• Knowledge of various MS Office applications such as: Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint. Technical writing experience preferred.
• Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
• Ability to lift | carry up to 50 pounds
• Conduct all business matters in a professional and ethical manner, exhibiting sound judgement, collaboration, and dedication to handle multiple deadlines.
• Ability to put in overtime and work an extended day as necessary.
• An ability to travel, both domestically and internationally, is required.

Compensation Package:

Nova-Tech Engineering currently offers a benefits package consisting of: medical insurance, paid holidays, PTO, health savings account with company match options, vision and dental insurance, short and long term disability, and a 401K plan with an immediate 100% match of the first 5% of your wages.
