The Power Electronics Design Engineer, Motor Control and Wireless IoT role is unique and will drive the design of next-generation intelligent controls and system electronics for cutting edge industrial electric motors. If this sounds like something that would interest you, apply now!


Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in electronics design.
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced, highly collaborative setting.
  • Strong ability to rapidly research, conceptualize, prototype, and evaluate new technologies such as communications protocols, motor controls, power electronics, and other digital hardware.
  • Proficiency in design, evaluation, laboratory testing, and agency testing of digital and analog electronics, such as UL60730.
  • Experience in circuit design and simulation, including tools such as Altium, Allegro Cadence, PSIM, MATLAB.
  • Experience with controls for Electrical Rotating Machines (120V - 690V, 1Ph, 3Ph, 0.37KW to 15KW).
  • Knowledge of evaluating reliability of electronic circuits.
  • Familiar with EMI, Hi-Pot, transients, ESD, Surge, Ground leakage/Ground bond.
  • Fluency in relevant agency standards.
  • Designing for manufacturability and testability.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% (domestic and international).


Additional Skills Preferred:

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus in power electronics.
  • 15+ years of experience in electronics / power electronics design.
  • Experience in designing switch mode power supplies and digital control of power supplies.
  • Experience in performing loss calculations, thermal performance and thermal mitigation techniques.
  • Knowledge with motor control theory and methods such as FOC for permanent magnet and induction motors.
  • Knowledge of various wireless communication protocols.
  • Experience with contract manufacturers in Asia and North America.
  • Six Sigma Training/Certification (Green Belt / DFLSS).
  • 80/20 methodology for business.
