Candidate Location

IZEA is headquartered in Orlando, Florida though the company is currently 100% remote due to COVID-19.

Due to this being a work-from-home opportunity it is posted in multiple locations, however, there is currently only one opening.

Role Background

The Manager, Company Culture & Internal Communications leads the evolution of ways of working and collaborating to optimally support the execution of IZEA's broader mission. They are the flagbearer of our operational belief system and responsible for ensuring that the company's culture is inclusive, inspiring, and empowering. Day to day, this individual ensures top-to-bottom team member alignment and provokes their action as ambassadors, cultivators, and stewards of IZEA's core values.

They also lead our Senior Staff in developing, promoting, and implementing programs and processes that balance team member needs for connection, challenge, and growth while measuring effectiveness to prioritize how we invest in our people.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Actively collaborates with all levels of the organization to inform, reinforce, and put into practice the behaviors that support our culture and, ultimately, enhance productivity and the achievement of our strategy.
  • Supports the hiring of 'best-fit' talent by capturing IZEA's culture in a clear and compelling employment brand and employee value proposition. Partners with Talent Acquisition to ensure hiring managers are equipped to select candidates who will thrive within the company.
  • Leads Team Member Communications; responsible for setting the tone for, and managing content and effectiveness of, communications with employees. Ensures messaging is aligned to our culture and strategy, stratifying messages to optimize audience absorption. Inspires the team to use a broad and innovative range of two-way communications mechanisms to ensure employees are fully engaged in the IZEA story and have the information they need to contribute their best and be their best.
  • Coordinates and positively impacts team on-going education, recognition, engagement, and events. Leads a cross-functional team that ideates, plans, and executes internal events that allow team members to celebrate their collective pride, collaboration, and accomplishments. Oversees employee recognition and employee engagement programs, maximizing the power of positive psychology and strengths-based leadership.
  • Advances initiatives that motivate and recognize a diverse and growing employee base and delivers on our employee promise of equity and inclusion.
  • Integrates employee wellness programming as a component of culture and engagement.
  • Collaborates with IZEA's external communications and marketing team regarding sponsorships, charitable giving and volunteer relationships with nonprofit organizations to maximize employee connection and impact with our communities.
  • Works directly with executives to provide strategic counsel related to our signature charitable giving program, IZEA Cares, including alignment to mission and culture.
Background We're Looking For
  • Demonstrated ability to link culture to concrete action and results, including measurable outcomes supported by data.
  • Successful track record as a communicator at all levels of an organization, translating complex ideas into easily absorbed information.
  • Proven ability to successfully organize and lead large scale initiatives with positive impact.
  • Strong orientation toward growing, developing, coaching, motivating a team around a compelling mission. Remote workforce background for the COVID WFH era highly preferred!
  • Innovative and creative; willing to carve a new path instead of following that of others.
  • Collaborative and consultative with executive leadership. Rooted in a strong customer service orientation that positively impacts any level of employee.
  • Highly Effective verbal and written communication skills paired with strong organizational and planning skills
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • You're self-sufficient and a natural self-starter. Your strong bias towards action has helped you earn the reputation of someone who gets things done. You thrive when you have a lot on your plate and get energy from making our clients investment in IZEA a success.
  • During non-COVID times, this role will require travel approximately 15-20% of the time, depending on your home office locale.
  • BA/BS degree required; MBA valued, but real-life experience is always preferred.
