Financial Reporting Manager


Position Summary: The Financial Reporting Manager Sr will be a critical part of the Accounting and Finance function. Partnering with the Finance and Accounting team, the Financial Reporting Manager Sr will be responsible for building out the financial reporting function, assist with third party audit/valuation firm engagement, assist in analyzing new contracts and agreements for accounting implications, assist in the preparation of technical memos, assist with SOX and internal controls implementation, help enhance and streamline NetSuite reporting capabilities, and assist with ad-hoc projects.


Responsibilities:

Operate as a critical member of the team with matters specific to accounting and financial results:

  • Partner with Accounting on the preparation of internal and external financial statements and related footnotes.
  • Partner with Accounting and Finance on MD&A analysis.
  • Lead automation and enhancements of NetSuite financial reporting capabilities.
  • Assist with accounting policy updates to ensure compliance with US GAAP.
  • Oversee the development, implementation, and monitoring of SOX internal control policies and procedures.
  • Partner with the Accounting Director to oversee quarterly financial reviews and year end audit processes with the company's external auditors.
  • Analyze contracts or agreements for accounting implications and prepare technical memos to support the ultimate treatment and conclusions.
  • Assist with the implementation of new or emerging accounting pronouncements (ASC 606, ASC 842, etc.) and prepare technical memos as needed.
  • Assist with Accounting assessment of business transactions.
  • Assist the Accounting team with business process improvements.
  • Special projects as assigned.

The job also requires performing other duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance

Experience and/or Training:

?? 7+ years of accounting experience; public accounting experience preferred.

?? Strong Accounting and GAAP knowledge: knowledge of new accounting standards (ASC 606, ASC 842, etc.).

Understanding of Internal Controls and SOX

?? Success in working across functional areas with strong verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills.

?? Understanding of the close and audit processes

?? Meticulous attention to detail and highly organized

?? Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.

?? Ability to work independently as a self-starter, as well as part of a larger accounting and finance team and manage time effectively and highly motivated.

?? Ability to make timely, sound decisions that align with SkyWater's priorities and values; take multiple factors into account; make appropriate decisions, even in fast-paced, uncertain situations.

?? Strong problem-solving skills

?? Proficient at handling conflict resolution and working with positions at all levels.

?? Ability to communicate verbally and in writing and present confidently to clients, understand client objectives.

?? Strong math and analytical skills a must

Licenses/Certificates:

?? Active CPA

Technology/Equipment:

  • Strong Computer Skills (Microsoft Office, etc.)
