Location

GrowthZone is headquartered in Nisswa, Minnesota - a town located within the beautiful Brainerd Lakes Area and noted for its scenic beauty, resorts, golf courses, and lakes. While local candidates are preferred, this position can be mostly remote within Minnesota, with occasional travel to Nisswa. Must be authorized to work in the United States.


Position Overview

The GrowthZone team is looking for an experienced Software Quality Assurance Engineer who wants to use their testing skills to make a big impact. Role and Responsibilities

  • Work cooperatively within an integrated team of developers, product managers, and SQA analysts to deliver quality features to our customers, in an agile development environment with fast-paced release cycles.
  • Assess current test suite and framework. Evaluate options for adopting new tools, practices, and processes. Make recommendations to leadership based on goals to improve quality, increase performance, reduce costs, and/or save time.
  • Mentor team members on automated test creation, implementation, and review. Drive the expansion of automated test coverage in critical areas. Work closely with teammates to share best practices and approaches, brainstorm possible efficiencies, propose training and learning opportunities, etc.
  • Review requirements and specifications to provide input on the design of a product, feature, enhancement, or other solution. Evaluate proposed changes for potential risks; advise the product and development teams to help ensure they are mitigated.
  • Develop test plans for new features, release items, regression testing, and other areas as needed. Review bug fixes and new features to confirm functionality, usability, and performance. Review source code changes to determine the type and level of testing needed.
  • Analyze automated test results to identify possible bugs and issues.
  • Support quality metrics tracking and reporting.
  • Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies.


Requirements

  • At least five years of experience in software quality assurance and automated software testing. Must include extensive automated API testing through either proprietary or commercial automated test frameworks.
  • Understanding and experience with the major elements of quality assurance testing: Load, Regression, Usability, Functionality, Systems (browser compatibility), Acceptance, Performance, and Test-Driven Development (TDD).
  • Experience developing general queries in databases for data verification and validation.
  • Ability to master new technologies quickly and to work in a constantly changing environment.
  • Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Personal integrity and a commitment to customer service.

Bonus if you have:

  • Knowledge of MVC/WebAPI, C# / .Net or Java, HTML5, SQL Server, IIS, Http, Javascript and frameworks (Angular, JQuery, etc.), LINQPad, Firebug, GitHub, browser and OS version features experience.
  • Experience with automated UI testing (Cypress, Selenium, Eggplant, or similar).
  • Experience with Octopus Deploy and TeamCity.
  • Experience with Associations and/or Chambers of Commerce.
