Mechanical Engineering Internship within our US Design Division. This opportunity is temporary employment for engineering students who are seeking a summer internship. This is a paid internship for 40 hours (except holidays) and begins in May/June 2021 and ends in August 2021. This internship is located in Minnesota and available at our Arden Hills, Rochester or Winona offices.

Skills Required:

Designs and develops customer products and the design of test fixtures and manufacturing tooling. Performs basic to high complexity design assignments.

The ideal candidate would be a self-motivated industrial engineering and stats student who is ready for a challenging internship in a fast-paced, electronics manufacturing environment.

Essential Functions:

Focus on mechanical design and documentation for customer products and/or related tooling, resulting in a product or tooling that supports the manufacturing environment, if applicable, to meet both the customers' requirements and the internal manufacturing requirements.

  • Develop basic drawings of components and assemblies
  • Make Engineering computations and write/edit specifications
  • Create modified basic designs for new or existing products and tooling
  • Verify completed work, checking dimensions, materials to be used and quantities per the verification plan
  • Interact with vendors to ensure proper fabrication of mechanical components for product, testers and tooling
  • Create and maintain basic engineering drawings
  • Assist assembly of tooling, test fixtures and prototypes
  • Perform basic to intermediate drafting and design duties such as tolerance analysis, material selection, and selection of fabrication methods

Education: Pursuing Engineering Degree with strong preference toward Mechanical Engineering Major
