Job Responsibilities:
Manages the development, implementation, and operations of AEOA Food Access and Rutabaga Project, a comprehensive local food advocacy project.

Job Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Public Health, the social sciences, or related field. Working knowledge of community food systems and sustainable development. Experience working in rural areas. Digital literacy skills. Knowledge of systemic causes and consequences of poverty.

Needed Attributes: Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing to the media, the public and community members at all income levels. Works effectively with teams and independently. Self-starter with organizational and managerial skills.

Essential Functions:

Directs and manages the development of a local food system that is sustainable and accessible to all income levels.
Recruits new farmers/small-scale growers and connects them with training and financing mechanisms.
Secures and maintains community partnerships to strengthen local food system.
Hires, supervises, trains, monitors, and evaluates AEOA Food Access staff, Farmers Market staff and volunteers, food forest staffs and volunteers, and other volunteer leaders.
Identifies, plans, develops, implements, and evaluates program and funding opportunities.
Oversees the NE MN Food Shelf Network, including fiscal support and quarterly meetings.
Manages program planning, budgetary control, development of contract proposals, and quality assurance.
Develops and maintains program and participant records, presenting data to funders and community stakeholders.
Prepares professionally written materials, public relations documents, and grants.
As a representative of the Agency, establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with relevant stakeholders.
