This is a Full Time, 40 hours a week, 80 hours a pay period. Position is Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm with rotating weekends, holidays, and call.

Scope:

• Responsible for organizing, developing, and directing skilled nursing services in accordance with the standards and practice of nursing, state and federal regulations, and Knute Nelson’s policies and procedures.
• Ensure time management that best utilizes Knute Nelson's resources while meeting client needs.
• Assure that the highest degree of quality care, customer service, fiscal responsibility, and regulatory compliance is maintained at all times.

Key Responsibilities:

• Direct Client Care – Initiating preventative and rehabilitative nursing procedures as appropriate for the client's care and safety. Observing signs and symptoms and reporting to the physician reactions to treatments, including drugs, and changes in the client's physical or emotional condition. Teaching, supervising and counseling the client and caregivers regarding the nursing care needs and other related problems of the patient.
• Client Records and Billing - Provide accurate and timely documentation of services rendered utilizing agency EMR. Demonstrate understanding and knowledge of all payer sources and authorization required. Complete and document supervisory visits with the LPN and/or HHA per regulations.
• Promote a spirit of cooperation with all regulatory organizations managing with an expectation of appropriate compliance and corrective measures. Coordinate clinical care with other health care professionals inside and outside Knute Nelson.
• Communication – Communicate effectively with clients, families, referral sources, physicians, and the interdisciplinary team. Demonstrate exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

Education and Experience Required:

• Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Minnesota.
• Must obtain CPR certification within 6 months from date of hire.
• Must complete and pass a state required background study.
• Must have strong assessment skills, good organizational skills, and strong problem-solving skills.
• Must have a valid driver's license and use of an insured personal vehicle.
• Able to physically perform the duties required by the position.
• Required to have the ability to read, write and speak English well enough to communicate with staff, residents and visitors.
