Position Overview:

The Manager, Searchandizing is responsible for managing & developing leaders of people and potentially individual contributors. This position ensures business objectives aligning to Product Data Management strategy and policy are accomplished through established, implemented and executed plans & tactics. The position's focus is on maintaining, coaching and developing staff, communicating organization objectives and expectations, and monitoring the progress of projects and initiatives, taking appropriate action when needed.

Minimum essential responsibilities:

• Manage a group of employees; primarily manages employees at seasoned / professional level. Administering escalated performance/disciplinary action (i.e. policy violation/PIP) as needed

• Accountable for the performance of a team within own discipline based on departmental strategy & KPIs. Administering escalated performance/disciplinary action (i.e. policy violation/PIP)

• Plan, organize and control all activities of the department. Participates in developing department goals, objectives, KPIs in alignment with corporate strategy

• Manage a generally homogeneous team; adapts plans and priorities to meet service and/or operational challenges

• Leading, planning and organizing department staff meetings. Providing business and team updates. Ensure that action items are completed in a timely manner

• Evaluate reports, decisions and results of department in relation to established goals|KPIs. Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed

• Build key partnerships within the organization to ensure understanding of broad business strategy and impact to Global Sales Operations and vice versa

• Act as a change agent who is able to gain consensus and influence action

• Identify opportunities for team and|or supervisor development (e.g. hard or soft skill) to ensure industry and corporate standards are met; partner with Operations Shared Services - Training to develop and organize development activities

• Work closely with Human Resources (HR) in regards to employee relations related issues

• Review and evaluate assigned department's manpower requirements

• Monitor and evaluate performance dashboards and reports; determine root cause of issues & propose|lead recommendations & implementation for resolution

Job specific requirements:

• Manage and oversee the research and development of product classification and parametric attributes

• Develop robust analytics to make fact based decisions and remove opinion as much as possible

• Utilize robust analytics and investigate low performing product categories

• Research and craft projects to facilitate the customer's online journey and search behavior, focusing on the digital platform

• Manage 3rd Party partner relationships and contractual obligations

• Work strategically with other departments to align objectives, achieve deliverables and ensure success of product marketing goals

• Execute programs designed to maximize product data management & governance as well as the customer experience.

• Assist Director of Product Data Management & Governance Operations with routine functions.

• Ability to travel if needed

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent

• Two-Year Degree in Operations, Data Management, Business Administration or similar area of study or equivalent, relevant work experience. (Preferred)

4+ years of management experience.

• Digi-Key Product Data Management or other relevant work experience

• Highly developed research and analytical skills

• Demonstrated knowledge of products and understanding of existing systems

• Strong understanding of Digi-Key processes and procedures

• Demonstrated understanding and ability to analyze reports as well as the confidence to make recommendations

• Actively participates as a member of the Digi-Key Management Team to meet departmental goals

• Demonstrated a high level of confidentiality.

• Demonstrated professionalism and ability to communicate at all levels within the organization

• Demonstrated ability to assist in the organization and distribution of workload in the Product Data Management & Governance Department

• Generally, spend the workday sitting at a workstation and operating computer devices, such as, but not limited to keyboard, mouse and screen

• Generally, spend the workday performing repetitive motions that involve or affect the hands, head, and other parts of your body
