Payroll/HR Assistant Job Description
The Payroll/HR assistant will assist the payroll department in various tasks, including tracking hours worked for all employees, onboarding/offboarding of new and termed employees scheduling staff, reconciling employee benefits each pay period, and other items as needed. The Payroll/HR Assistant will report to both the Director of Finance and Director of HR and generally work within both departments for any business.



Payroll/HR Assistant Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide assistance to the payroll department in all tasks as assigned.
  • Provide assistance to the HR department in all tasks as assigned.
  • Work with Coaches to fix timecard errors and missed punches and ensure timecards are reviewed and approved on time.
  • Onboard all new hires and Offboard termed employees each pay period.
  • Assist HR and Finance department to ensure all city and state minimum wages are up to date.
  • Assist HR department with I9 forms and E-verification.
  • Help process wage garnishments for all employees as needed.
  • Keep all payroll information confidential, maintaining privacy for each and every employee.
  • Answer employee questions pertaining to payroll as they arise.

Essential Qualifications and Qualities

  • Experience in a payroll and/or HR position required
  • General math skills
  • Outstanding attention to detail and thoroughness
  • Exceptional multitasking and organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office applications
  • Able to handle confidential information and trustworthy
  • Able to work effectively with minimal supervision
