Sales & Use Tax Accountant

Accountemps is seeking a Sales & Use Tax Accountant to join a reputable organization for a temporary project. This Sales & Use Tax Accountant will be responsible for a variety of tasks however the primary task will be focusing on process sales and use taxes. This position is located in White Bear Lake and will start right away!

Responsibilities:

- Translate and import client sales and use tax data

- Checking sales records, reconciling sales with the correct tax rate, implementing tax accounting policies, and filing the company's taxes

- Support property tax compliance and non-income tax audits

- Perform general ledger/bank reconciliations, research/resolve discrepancies

- Calculate/reconcile commission payments for sales representatives and distributors

- Assist with month-/year-end close processes

- Proficient with spreadsheets and databases

- 3+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience

- Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment

- Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills required

- Skilled in analytical, quantitative and social skills

- BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

- Proven knowledge of general ledger

- Deep understanding of month end closings

- Vertex Sales & Use Tax experience preferred

- Sales and use tax experience desired

- General familiarity with SAP

- Experience with Month-end Journal Entries

- Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines

- Strong attention to detail

- Self-starter and strong ethical standards
