Software and Product Engineering Technician Germantown, WI
Our client located in Germantown, WI is adding a Software and Product Engineering Technician to their team! If you are someone who can work independently, but are not afraid to ask for help when you get stuck and have great organizational/computer skills, this might be the job for you! This position requires dedication to thoroughness as well as high-level communication skills.
The Software and Product Engineering Technician is responsible for the coordination of development, testing, and release of new or updated parts of the pricing software. They are also responsible for Installation and Operations manual releases and other standard product documentation as part of Product Engineering.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Development of New Models: review and reorganize spreadsheets, creation of test data, develop testing plans, accept testing for new products
Sales Support: update items such as representative codes, freight engines, pricing adjustments, etc., backup guidance for Regional Sales Managers training, answering questions related to the functionality of the system, document potential improvement suggestions
User Support: backup user support when Regional Sales Managers are unavailable, assist with password resets, system admin work, review system-related issues, maintain revision and version control of files
Software Improvement: maintain a list of potential improvements, regularly review the list with management for prioritization
Installation and Operations Manuals
Overseeing the revisions to the manuals, including: compiling changes, coordinating and reviewing graphics when illustrations are required, routing proposed versions to stakeholders, issuing final changes to the file and releasing internally
Issuing of New Manuals: obtain drafts from the Project Engineers, coordinate with the Technical Publishing personnel and consultants to determine appropriate layouts
Product Engineering: responsible for the product documentation such as label files, forms, and other related documents as well as working on special projects related to Product Engineering and the release of custom system designs or standard product updates and revisions
Qualifications:
Associates Degree in Engineering
The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of Office applications, particularly in Excel
Strong computer skills - a working knowledge of Visual Basic is a plus
Previous Work within an engineering and/or manufacturing environment is a plus
Have good coordination as they will be working between engineering departments (Software Solutions and Produce Engineering)
Must have a strong mechanical aptitude
Hours:
1st shift, Mon-Fri
Open to flex shift in/out to get daily 8 hours work
Pay rate:
Depending on experience: please submit pay requirements
$22-23/hr starting with little experience
$28/hr with excellent experience
