As a Financial Analyst, you will be responsible for complex financial analysis and operations. You will be accountable for the resolution of issues through pharmacy claim analysis and research. Effective time management, adherence to turnaround times, and curiosity are a must. You will be responsible for identifying and resolving discrepancies in financial guarantee reconciliations. You will work to mitigate financial risk by partnering with various internal teams. You will be accountable for accurate and in-depth analyses for the assigned book of business. Develop and enhance the guarantee reconciliation process. Represent functional area as part of an overall management team.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work independently on well-understood assignments and/or responsibilities
  • Interface with other departments to resolve problems
  • Maintain reconciliation tracking logs and analyze deficiencies, work with internal partners to mitigate financial risk, and follow established escalation process.
  • Provide timely turnaround and perform accurate reconciliation review and analysis
  • May manage financial models, engage business partners and/or cross-functional teams for error resolution, and work with business partners to meet critical deadlines
  • Review and reconcile data as required
  • Support and provide coverage for other team members
  • Investigate issues thoroughly through contract research and high-level decision-making skills
  • Run and analyze relevant system queries
  • Communicate with external consultants to provide guidance on ASO contract terms and guarantee performance
  • Maintain effective working relationships within and outside of ASO Finance

Required Qualifications:

  • BA / BS degree in Finance, Math, Business or related field and/or equivalent education and experience
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to pull and analyze data, recommending remediation to issues
  • Ability to interface with all levels of internal and external management to build relationships and address sensitive issues
  • If you need to enter a work site for any reason, you will be required to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or similar UnitedHealth Group-approved symptom screener. When in a UnitedHealth Group building, employees are required to wear a mask in common areas. In addition, employees must comply with any state and local masking orders

Preferred qualifications:

  • 1+ years financial analyst relevant experience
  • Competent in Excel and Word, along with other Microsoft Office suite of applications, Access and SAS a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced team environment with strong attention to detail
