We believe there's power in every drop of milk our farmers produce, and by improving production and finding innovative uses for that milk, we add a little good to people's lives.The Maintenance Technician is responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining plant processing, facility and support equipment.Must perform all Master Sanitation List requirements.Performance of duties assigned with focus on safety, quality, and GMPs.Execute work orders on time as assigned by planner/scheduler, maintenance supervisor or other members of management as assigned in proper priority.Calibration of any/all equipment and instruments as assigned.Responsible for housekeeping of all work areas during and following performed work.Responsible for housekeeping of all maintenance shop and parts storage areas as assigned. Location city, state : Kiel, Wisconsin Hours: 3pm-11pm or 9pm-5am Wage: $24.46 - $28.33/hr plus night shift and Sunday premiums; ability to advance based on proven skill set Land O'Lakes, Inc offers a competitive salary and bonus potential. The company also provides a comprehensive benefits package as well as other company sponsored benefits. Bonus: A $250 sign-on bonus. $500 retention bonus paid after six months of employment. $750, second payment of retention bonus paid after one year of employment. All totaled this equals $1,500 in sign-on and retention bonuses. Required Education:High School Diploma or GEDRequired Qualifications & Experiences:18 years or older6+ months prior industrial maintenance experience, knowledge and/or educationBasic computer skillsCommunicates work order progress to supervisor and production operatorsAbility to read, write, comprehend, follow verbal and written instructions and possess basic mathematical skillsPossess mechanical aptitude. Some experience with mechanical systems, utilizing product manuals, troubleshooting mechanical breakdowns, and reading mechanical drawings.Must have , some post high school/technical trades training and coursework preferred.Must have the ability to run various computer applications that apply to the department and business to an acceptable degree, including but not limited to Microsoft Office Products, and CMMS program, etc.Must be able to do mathematical calculations.Must possess one or more specific mechanical, electrical, welding, plumbing, masonry or other skill sets to a degree from which the employee progress to an acceptable performance level within the prescribed timeline and/or probationary period.Ability to make quality fabrication and repair weldsProven electrical and mechanical skills to run own shiftHandle Startup and shutdown of plant utilities/systems: Gas, Oil, Steam, Compressed Air, Electrical, Water, Ammonia/Freon RefrigerationCompetent and physically able to service/operate/repair the following: Hydraulic and Pneumatic controls, Fork trucks, Torch and Plasma cutterShall have basic plumbing/pipefitting skillsBasic operational knowledge of boilers, steam and refrigeration systemsKeep log of personal activities/achievements including but not limited to training and certification through technical trade schools, etc. and review with supervisor as needed to maintain a current employee file.Preferred Qualifications & Experiences:1+ years' experience with basic electrical systems, compressors, welding, plumbing, conveyers, hydraulics, packaging, PLC, pneumatics, preventive maintenance, and pumps.Forklift experience preferred or willing to be trained for certificationEnsures a safe working environment for self and others while performing assigned tasksAble to work in a fast-paced environmentAbility to effectively work with a variety of people and departmentsAbility to be flexible in work performed and scheduleSelf-reliant and able to accurately work under limited supervisionCustomer focused and able to work in a collaborative teamAdhere to all standard operating procedures (SOPs)Essential Physical Requirements:Working in a manufacturing or warehouse environment, you will be walking, standing and engaging in movement throughout the day, and occasionally to frequently be required to lift items weighing up to 70 lbs. Due to a large variety of job duties (both routine and non-routine), certain duties also may involve, a variety of physical activities including bending, lifting, stooping, turning, twisting, pushing, pulling, raising arms above shoulders and head, standing, working in enclosed areas, climbing stairs or ladders, and operating heavy machinery. The noise level in the work environment can vary but noise is usually low to moderate.You may be required to wear personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety gloves, hearing protection, a respirator or dust mask, protective footwear and protective clothing or uniforms. Work may be performed in cold and/or hot temperatures and the environment can be dusty. Physical requirements further include the ability to engage in productive and collaborative communication with co-workers and work may need to be performed during non-standard hours, including nights and weekends. At times, the ability to work overtime also may be required. The ability to perform these requirements is necessary to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
