The Cross Optum team designs and facilitates programs between life sciences companies, payers, providers and patients to address care gaps and improve quality of care. We are uniquely positioned within the company to harness the power of the enterprise to deliver programs on our client's behalf. Our programs are built using real world data, analytics, and predictive modeling that serve as the basis for design of intervention and leverage the organization's expertise by linking all parties together across the enterprise.

As a Cross Optum Senior Program Consultant, you will part of a team that leads our clients' strategic, programs across United Healthcare business lines (E&I, Medicare, C&S), ACOs, and Optum Care provider groups. This Senior Consultant is responsible for identifying opportunities and partners for programs that will enhance clinical care delivery, address care gaps and improve quality of care. We aim to improve patient and provider satisfaction with scale and speed. You will have responsibility to lead complex programs with some of our largest life sciences clients with responsibilities for facilitation and management of multiple delivery partners as we harness the power of the Enterprise to make a real and positive impact in healthcare. The programs you deliver will help our clients gain a broad and deep understanding of stakeholders and their behavior to truly influence the interventions of a specific disease state. The programs you lead will use powerful data analysis and carefully designed interventions to deliver insightful analytics and innovative solutions that will ultimately enhance patient wellness, deliver better outcomes and lower the total cost of care.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Program management of 2-3 active client programs, with a target utilization rate of 80%
  • Delivery of client contracted deliverables within scope, schedule and budget
  • Client delivery leadership, including presentations, program updates and coordination for client inclusion in delivery elements
  • Lead and manage enterprise wide program teams for the delivery of programs that often require multiple organizations across UHC and Optum
  • Management of program scope, schedule and budget including agreements such as intersegment agreements for enterprise program resources
  • Teamwork and collaboration in a dynamic consulting team by contributing to the development of new tools and frameworks that drive efficiency and excellence in delivery
  • Think big and bring new ideas and opportunities forward for consideration; business development ideation and proposal development

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 4+ years consulting experience, including experience delivering executive level presentations
  • 4+ years in healthcare or pharma experience building out strategic programs within healthcare/life sciences
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience in program management/project management
  • Ability to travel at least 25% (when restrictions are lifted due to COVID)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree
  • Bachelor's degree (strong preference for chemistry, biology, pharmaceutical sciences, math, physics, engineering, or business)
  • PMP Certification
  • Intermediate proficiency in MS Project
  • Previous work experience in Optum, UHC and/or UHG
  • Previous experience in a life sciences company or other health plan, provider or payer

Colorado Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $94,500 to $171,700.
