Position Summary:

This position requires a results-oriented and creative Instructional Designer who is not afraid to challenge the status quo. We're growing, and growing fast...and a big portion of that growth can be attributed to our focus on the training and education that we provide to our membership base and to our network of instructors. We have one of the largest and fastest growing training divisions in the country and we are working hard to keep up with the demand while not sacrificing an ounce of quality in our work.
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • eLearning development
    • Production of eLearning products under the direction of the Training Division
    • Continuous improvement of eLearning products
    • Manage the talent while on set
    • Submit ideas on new eLearning products
    • Seek out and remain current on the latest e-learning training opportunities to ensure productions meet the highest standards
    • Maintain strict adherence to established deadlines
  • Training Platform / Protector Academy
    • Coordinate and execute the training content needs of the Training Platform and Protector Academy
    • Content creation/authoring and LMS publishing and management of:
      • eLearning courses
      • Drill of the month videos
      • Courses
      • Mini-courses
      • Classroom curriculum
    • Support training content video/photo shoots
    • Support and be involved in the ideation process to ensure the specific content hits the requirements of the Training Platform
  • Support all internal content efforts of the Training Division
  • Under the direction of the USCCA Brand Manager, maintain a consistent feel and look across all Training Content media without negatively impacting the specific needs of each business. All projects meet USCCA brand standards before release!
  • Ensure all content goes through appropriate vetting (subject matter approval)/proofreading, copy edit etc. processes before release
Skills/Abilities and Education Requirements:
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • 1 to 3 years of experience showing continually expanding responsibilities
  • Experience in Articulate 360 suite of products (Storyline, Rise, Review), iSpring and Microsoft PowerPoint, Google Office Suite (Slides, Docs, Sheets) preferred
  • Experience with the following software strongly preferred: Adobe Premiere Video Editor, Adobe Photoshop Photo Editor, Dropbox, WordPress a plus
  • Experience with LearnDASH, Litmos, or similar LMS tools
  • Ability to be part of a team...an accountable team
  • Absolute adherence to deadlines
  • Self-motivated, self-starter who takes pride in meeting deadlines and exceeding expectations
  • Mature, versatile creative skills supported by a top-shelf, no gimmicks, functional design aesthetic
  • Strong experience with visual media tools
  • Firearms knowledge and an understanding of the firearms industry to include instructors and students is a huge plus, but not required
  • Attention to detail and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, team environment
  • Constant desire to learn and grow professionally and personally
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently or collaboratively as directed
