Planning and directing all accounting operational functions, handling the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluating accounting and internal control systems, and leading departmental staff will be essential for this role. How you will make an impact
- Manage the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is on time
- Work closely with executive team and partners to ensure efficient and successful firm-wide operation
- Ensure client satisfaction by reviewing deliverables of self and team
- Prepare cash-flow reports, projecting cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, daily cash management
- Support Finance Department initiatives, such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, with research, planning, and implementation, as required
- Oversee the activities of the finance department, such as accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
- Able to perform additional tasks beyond formal job duties
- Responsible for month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis
- Assess, execute and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
- Present executive committee and partners with monthly financial reports
- Manage the production of and monthly monitoring of the annual budget and forecasts
Job Requirements:
- Strong communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations - Auditing experience preferred - Proficiency in Standard Cost Accounting - Solid understanding of financial reporting - Financial auditing experience highly desired - Knowledge of month end closings - Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity - Progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred - Accomplished in analytical, quantitative and social skills - CPA/MBA preferred - Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines - BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field - Prior work in technology, analytics and management experience desired - Prior work done in public accounting is desired - Detailed and have the ability work independently - Excellent oral and written communications skills - Self-starter and strong ethical standards
