Help Desk Technician

Mitchell Technical College is seeking a Help Desk Technician to serve as the first point of contact for Mitchell Tech students and employees seeking technical assistance.

This is a 12-month position and duties include:

1) Offering technical assistance on the delivery, configuration, setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of computer system, hardware, and software;
2) Respond to questions on the phone, via email, in person ,or through remote access;
3) Troubleshoot computer hardware and software;
4) Evaluate and test new software and hardware developments to determine applicability to specific needs;
5) Advise technical management on trending processes;
6) Accurately document and manage help desk tickets in a timely manner.

The technician will also provide technical support to ensure daily operational needs and:
1) Function in a "help-desk" support role to provide real time troubleshooting; 2) Determine hardware maintenance needs by applying diagnostic procedures;
3) Instruct clients in the use of computers, software applications, and hardware.

A minimum AAS degree is required, preferably information technology related. Effective communications skills are essential. The position is open until filled and begins as soon as possible.
