The Accessibility Center of Excellence seeks energetic, motivated and resourceful individuals to join our growing team. The Accessibility Center of Excellence serves the UnitedHealth Group enterprise (Optum and UnitedHealthcare), providing guidance, training and talent to product teams as they build solutions that ensure everyone can access and use Optum and UHC products.This role will challenge your ability to adapt in a fast changing environment. As accessibility operations manager, you will be responsible for driving practice objectives of the Accessibility Center of Excellence aimed at helping teams incorporate accessibility early in the product development lifecycle. Your subject matter expertise from scope definition, risk identification, project methodology, resource allocation and facilitation will help product teams meet specific accessibility requirements. You'll also make presentations to management on project updates and expected results, helping to drive integration and maturity of accessibility practices across the organization. Primary Responsibilities: Establish and coordinate projects that will meet objectives for the practice. Define and manage schedule, budget, and resources as well as tracking and reporting against plan. Collect, analyze and maintain financial forecast information (e.g. labor, hardware, software), using input from applicable sources. Work with stakeholders to establish/apply quality objectives, criteria, standards and levels using appropriate quality management methods. Identify and forecast variances and trends throughout the project lifecycle to ensure that project schedules and resource requirements are met. Develop, communicate and implement program, project risk and issue management plans and strategies (e.g. mitigation, avoidance, transfer, acceptance). Demonstrate knowledge of operations, goals, and policies and procedures of internal business partners in order to provide effective support to internal and/or external customers Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders in an environment requiring flexibility, agility and the ability to adapt to change. Seek feedback from customers to determine success of overall project management and implementation. Ensure performance is tracked accurately utilizing internal tools and processes (e.g., dashboards; scorecards; reports). Review consolidated operational performance reports in order to determine overall effectiveness, make necessary changes, and identify opportunities for new programs or program consolidation or expansion. Required Qualifications: Undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience 5+ years of experience working in a fast-paced and highly collaborative technical environment collaboratively and productively with both diverse teams and independently. 3+ years of project management experience using data and information to make business decisions 3+ years of experience with strategic planning, risk management, and change management Self-motivated with a desire to improve products for people with disabilities General awareness of disabilities that impact a person's ability to interact with digital content General knowledge of HTML, CSS, and proficiency with Microsoft Office and MS Project. Familiarity with Agile development methodology General knowledge of Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) guidelines and specifications and Intermediate to advanced working knowledge of WCAG Ability to work simultaneously on multiple projects and help manage project resources Comfortable with the development of reports and presenting to management Ability to work collaboratively and productively both with diverse teams and independently Solid soft skills and experience working with teams who may not have any understanding of inclusive design or accessibilitysolid Solid organizational and multi-tasking skills Willingness to learn and take direction from others If you need to enter a work site for any reason, you will be required to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or a similar UnitedHealth Group-approved symptom screener.
