Job Description
A Design Engineer on the Portable Conveyor team is responsible for completing the following duties:
- Coordinate product design and development for equipment used in processing bulk material and aggregates
- Design and detail custom conveying equipment
- Perform design analysis for components
- Create detail drawings
- Complete bills of material
- Evaluate and implement design changes
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, AgriculturalEngineering or related education
- Thorough understanding of:
- Drafting standards, dimensioning, and tolerances
- Mechanical power relationships such as horse power, torque, speed, ratios
- Shaft, bearing, and power transmission design and analysis
- Strengths of materials and structural analysis
- ASD steel design code
- Training and/or experience in using 2D CAD software

- Component design is completed according to schedule
- Designs meet Superior Industries' engineering standards
- Design analysis, drawings, and bills of material are accurate
- Use CAD software,Windows-based, and Google-basedprograms effectively
