As an Associate Accounting Director within our Regulatory Finance - Accounting and Reporting division you will be responsible for providing in-depth financial reporting oversight and analysis, and implementing best practices as it relates to the reporting process. You will review and synthesize financial data pursuant to Statutory Accounting Principles (SAP), which is based on Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), for presentation to senior management and submission to external constituencies.

Primary Responsibilities:
Direct and review internal and external financial reporting processes and results, ensuring quality, accuracy and timeliness
Provide operational and technical accounting expertise to ensure compliance with GAAP, SAP, Company policies, rules, regulations and laws
Collaborate with and support business partners in other finance and operational areas on the execution of filings, external communications and audits
Direct the external audit process and work with external independent auditors
Summarize financial data to senior management, internal and external auditors and regulators
Provide leadership and be accountable for the performance of managers and/or senior level professional staff
Oversee and direct project teams that develop and implement innovative approaches for continued improvement in efficiency and effectiveness
Maintain and improve the internal control structure and procedures for financial reporting

Required Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance
5+ years demonstrated progression in financial reporting and analysis
5+ years supervisory experience
Strong working knowledge of GAAP; ability to effectively use accounting knowledge to collaborate with varying levels of employees and senior management to drive sound business decisions
Advanced analytical and information gathering skills; ability to evaluate and prioritize extensive detailed data

Preferred Qualifications:
CPA, CMA, or other equivalent licensure or certification
Public accounting experience
Health care experience
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
