Internal Audit conducts audits and reports the results of our work to the Audit & Examinations Committee of the Board of Directors. We provide independent, objective assurance and consulting services delivered through a highly competent and diverse team. As a business partner, Audit helps the Company accomplish its objectives by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes.

The Team: Governance, Analysis and Reporting
The Governance, Analysis, and Reporting (GAR) team Chief Audit Director leads the group that oversees and governs audit quality and effectiveness for risk identification, monitoring, and assurance activities in conformance with stakeholder expectations and industry standards. In addition to a robust Quality Assurance capability, GAR aggregates themes, root causes of issues, and creates divisional reporting for executives, management committees, and the board.

The Role: Business Support Consultant 5 - Audit Oversight Group
The Business Support Consultant 5 will implement and facilitate oversight routines for some of the Audit function's most critical activities, providing credible challenge and end-to-end oversight related to audit and regulatory issue management, project auditing, and business monitoring and activities. In particular, this role will engage with audit leadership and provide credible challenge, support, and information with the objective to ensure that validations executed by Audit are of the highest quality and ensure alignment with regulatory and other stakeholder expectations. With that focus, the Business Consultant 5 will work with audit leadership to build new capabilities and build on existing routines including:

  • Actively engaging in governance forums and also directly with audit teams for end-to-end credible challenge to ensure adequate audit work is performed
  • Providing insights to ensure that Audit considers correlated corrective actions across Wells Fargo, pointing out interdependencies and pre-requisite steps for a full understanding of success criteria
  • Credibly challenging audit's analysis and assessment of certain first and second line build-outs related to frameworks and capabilities, control improvement efforts, execution on corrective actions, and strategic projects
  • Enhancing audit's business monitoring activities for timely and appropriate responses including dynamic changes to the audit plan or scope of work
  • Collaborating with other audit teams to create analytical reporting, end-user-computing tools, Share-Point, Scorecards, and work-flow management tools
  • Developing and maintaining policies and procedures for newly implemented governance activities with the GAR audit team
  • Credibly challenging audit's analysis and assessment of certain customer remediation events
  • Performing qualitative and quantitative analysis over project auditing activities, including risk assessment and engagement execution to demonstrate consistent use of resources, approach, and ratings and conclusions
  • Building scorecards and reporting metrics to demonstrate performance against team objectives and providing audit leadership with real-time escalations or status information on health of corrective action efforts

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: business support, project management, implementation, business operations or strategic planning



Desired Qualifications

  • Ability to influence across all organizational levels, particularly senior management
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels, where flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability are important
  • Good analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to create and improve process through strategic thinking



Other Desired Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Institution of Internal Audit (IIA) standards and other professional industry standards and guidelines (ISACA, ACAMS, etc.)
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of audit or risk methodologies and supporting tools.
  • Certification in one or more of the following: CPA, CAMS, CRCM, CIA, CISA or Commissioned Bank Examiner designation.
  • Experience preparing and delivering reports to senior leaders and banking regulators
  • Risk management specialization in one or more area of financial services delivery (i.e., consumer regulatory compliance, operations, Basel, operational risk, data analytics, credit administration, stress testing, model risk, and Information Technology General Controls, change management)
