Corporate Risk helps all Wells Fargo businesses identify and manage risk. The team focuses on several key risk types, including conduct, credit, financial crimes, information security, interest rate, liquidity, market, model, operational, regulatory compliance, reputation, strategic, and technology risk. The group provides leadership, enhances communications, assists with problem identification and solutions, and shares best practices. In addition, the group provides an enterprise-wide view of risk, assists management and our Board of Directors in identifying and monitoring risks that may affect multiple lines of business, and takes appropriate action when business activities exceed the risk tolerance of the company.

Within Wells Fargo Corporate Risk, the Independent Testing & Validation (ITV) group is responsible for establishing and maintaining a consolidated testing and validation program at the corporate level. ITV is responsible for developing a common methodology and standards, providing governance and oversight, executing independent testing of non-financial risks; and conducting horizontal and targeted reviews. Testing and validation teams are responsible for implementing the ITV methodology and standards, and executing group- specific testing.
The Strategy & Program team within ITV is responsible for the design, development, and implementation of the testing and validation program and target state strategy, including methodology, policies, procedures, training, testing resources and platform tools, central operational processes and control functions (e.g. quality assurance/control, plan management), and reporting. This group will support the ITV LOB-aligned testing and validation teams (Consumer Banking Small Business, Consumer Lending, Wealth & Investment Management, Corporate & Investment Banking, Commercial Banking, and Cross-Enterprise Functions) through a central service model and will provide governance and oversight to ensure the program is operating effectively.
The RCSA Based Testing strategy leads (Enterprise Testing Officer) will support annual planning and testing execution through analysis, guidance, and support in understanding of the enterprise risk framework. The role will coordinate with IT&V group and LOB-aligned reporting teams to ensure that management and stakeholders have sufficient views into previous, ongoing, and planned testing results and highlight of any testing gaps. Critical to success will be a strong understanding of upstream data, including risk and control self-assessment, business process management models, and an understanding of how data is used by LOB-aligned testing and validation teams to perform annual planning, scoping, and testing. This role will also support the development of the ITV testing platform and tools. A solid understanding of auditing and risk management fundamentals are critical to ensure that ITV's testing strategies are conducted efficiently, effectively, and meet stakeholder needs.
Specific responsibilities include:
  • Working strategically with the LOB-aligned testing teams to efficiently plan and execute RCSA based and Incremental Compliance testing.
  • Independently assess data sets from bank systems and interpret data for purposes of supporting test plans.
  • Support multiple projects across LOB-aligned testing teams.
  • Work with Independent Risk Management (IRM) partners to stay apprised of enterprise risk strategy.
  • Participate in key special projects and initiatives supporting ITV's expansion towards target state.
  • Develop and support interim and target state approaches for capturing and reporting of RCSA Based Testing results.
  • Manage issues and decisions to timely resolution. Communicate with senior management teams to escalate/resolve project conflicts and needs.
  • Perform analysis to identify procedures that require enhancement and identify ways to make them more effective.
  • Effective time management to meet stringent deadlines, work under pressure with attention to detail and accuracy to achieve quality results.
This role will be expected to drive change with an ability to apply risk assessment results to auditing or testing methodology. This Team member will also be expected to communicate with a variety of stakeholders, and provide clear and succinct reports to senior management. A strong understanding of control testing and outcome based testing is necessary. Experience implementing or designing auditing methodologies is also important.

Required Qualifications
  • 7+ years of experience in risk management (includes compliance, financial crimes, operational risk, audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, IT systems security, business process management) or 7+ years of financial services industry experience, of which 5+ years must include direct experience in risk management

  • Solid knowledge and understanding of audit or risk methodologies and supporting tools
  • Strong understanding of financial regulatory environment
  • Certification in one or more of the following: CPA, CAMS, CRCM, CIA, CISA or Commissioned Bank Examiner designation
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels, where flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability are important
