The Sewer & Water Project Foreman/Superintendent is responsible for all activities on the project site.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Leads daily activities on project sites.
- Coordinates with estimation and project management team, to ensure for successful projects.
- Ensures planning and carrying out of activities that will maintain a safe project site.
- Enforces strict compliance of all safety requirements and ensures appropriate level of rewards or reprimands.
- Plans project implementation by understanding plans and specs. Confers with estimator and project manager and has construction plan established prior to mobilization.
- Ensures that schedules are prepared timely and reviewed with appropriate staff.
- Focuses project team to consistently exceed estimated labor production estimates.
- Owners, Inspectors, and Internal Management are kept informed of work progress.
- Ensures employees and equipment are matched with work appropriately.
- Interacts with subcontractors and material vendors for uninterrupted workflow.
Qualifications & Skills
- Must be able to follow plans and specifications, lay out project work, and work efficiently with the materials and tools of their trade.
- Must have experience working on municipal infrastructure projects including water and sewer main replacement.
- The ability to comprehend and follow specific instructions.
- Interpersonal competencies that include a drive for results, the need for closure, effective oral communication skills, organization, planning, trust, respect, being dependable and cooperation.
- Ownership of all hand tools that are required to perform any the task completed.
- Good housekeeping skills.
- Must be physically fit to perform manual labor in all types of environments and conditions, including heavy lifting (in excess of 50 lbs.)
- 10 years underground utilities and/or civil construction leadership experience is required; large diameter, deep underground pipe experience preferred.
- Degree in Construction Management or Engineering preferred.
- Ability to travel extensively to projects across the U.S.
- Ability to use construction industry software; HCSS, Excel, Word, etc.
- Proven organizational and planning capabilities.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
