Kelly Science has a direct hire opportunity for a Food Safety Manager in Belleville, WISalary: $80,000-$90,000This position is responsible for the development and maintenance of all Food Safety Programs at their respective Plant. This individual will work to ensure programs are bench marked against the latest regulatory and customer requirements as well as, industry best practices. This position reports to the Director of Operations/ Plant Manager and assumes "In Charge" in their absence.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:1. Effectively train and lead Quality Team Members to maintain quality assurance and food safety requirements.2. Create a culture of Safety and Teamwork throughout the facility.3. Establish a strong working relationship with ACPI's customers by organizing and managing the QA functions to the customer's standards4. Ensure compliance with GMP, HACCP, SSOP, OSHA, FDA, USDA and all other national and international standards5. Develop, monitor and report all quality plans to improve efficiencies, reduce costs and meet compliance.6. Assist Plant Manager in supervision of facility and all aspects of personnel including hiring, firing, performance, promotions, and disciplinary actions.7. Practice safe work habits at all times. Conduct and manage plant safety team.8. Provide leadership and drive continuous improvement to the plant and its employees.9. Co-facilitate customer audits relating to food safety and quality (BRC and non-BRC).10. Understand Functional/Physical job requirements of each position.11. Possess knowledge and location of all SDS information and the effect of chemicals used12. Must be available to be on call and work occasional weekends and nights if problems arise and management presence is needed at the facility.13. Confidently perform management duties in the absence of Plant Manager.14. Oversee and/or conduct production reporting, product billing documentation, customer invoicing, product shipment procedures, and SAP data information input.15. Mange and direct day to day and long range activities for assigned projects.16. Actively participate in leadership team continuous improvement projects17. Investigate customer complaints and provide corrective action feedback18. Maintain all required safety programs to standards regulated by OSHA, conduct all training for these required programs19. Maintain records of all first aid/OSHA recordable information and file reports accordingly.20. Maintain records of all air, water, run off, and cooling water use and report as necessary to appropriate PCA.21. Perform other duties as assigned by Plant Manager and Company Officers.This description reflects the principal functions of the job for the purpose of job evaluation. Associates degree and minimum of 2 years' experience as a QC; Technician or Supervisor in a food manufacturing facility2. FSMA HACCP & PCQI Certified3. Knowledge of audits and auditing (customer, state, & federal regulatory)4. Knowledge of all safety programs required for a business operating in their respective state5. Must be knowledgeable in Microsoft Office Programs (i.e. Word, Excel, and Outlook). Possess good typing and spelling skills.6. Boilers license or ability to obtain within 1 year7. Strong verbal and written skills8. Availability to be on-call and return to plant during off-duty hours9. Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.10. Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.11. Must possess the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies and procedures, etc., assigned by supervisors12. Must be able to operate usual business machines; computer, printer, typewriter, copy machine, fax, postage machine and calculator.13. Must possess leadership ability and the willingness to work harmoniously with professional and non-professional personnel.14. Mechanical aptitudePREFERRED SKILLS:1. Bachelor Degree in Science or a related field OR 4 or more years of equivalent experience2. Effective time management, problem solving and planning skills3.
